Do you have rib pain?

Rib pain can be incredibly painful, especially when it limits your breathing.

Common causes of rib pain:  

  • Costochondritis or costosternal pain (rib-sternum joint) 

  • Costotransverse or costovertebral pain (rib-spine joint) 

  • Intercostal muscle spasm & nerve compression 

  • Referral from the spine 

What you can do: 

  • Try some shoulder, back and abdominal stretches.

  • Breathing exercises in a comfortable position (try either laying on your back, or in child’s pose).

  • Heat can relieve muscle and joint pain (try a heat pack or a hot shower).
